for the first time in my life I am not receiving mail on a consistent basis. some days no mail delivered and then a big bundle is dropped in my mailbox. what’s up?

I am new to having a Post Office Box. It seems to me that a Lobby to Post Office Boxes should have availability 24/7. This could very easily done with keys or cards. I have a PO Box and seem to come by when it is closed. Unfortunately, I do not always remember hours or Federal Holidays since my job is 24/7. To me, it seems this 24/7 Access could be easily monitored.
