Will not deliver packages. what happed to "Through rain and snow etc. we deliver"? The alternative is come rent an extremely overpriced PO box from us, so we don't have to leave the building. Sounds like Walmart self checkout. I Guess the post office agency will never be like it was!

Just a helpful note: I had mail forwarded. from 28741 to 30327. To being Dec 4. Today the 24 I get a blue envelope from USPA called "Official Change-of-Address Confirmation, saying 'Failure to confirm my address may result in delayed mail' etc etc. But there is NO WHERE on the form to do so. It directs me to a website, but at that site, it gives me an Edit button, but the info is all correct, there is nothing to edit. I was scared to touch that button. It is Dec 26 and I have not yet received any forwarded mail. I will just hope.

This is the single worst delivery service I have ever had. I got mail faster on deployment in the middle of the ocean faster than I get packages from this post office. They will say out for delivery and wont show until days later. At this point I would have an easier time driving the distance to the retailer then have it mailed through USPS. No matter how far I could get it faster than USPS delivers. Please for all that is good in this world fix yourselves and just stop. Their are 100 other services that deliver better than you. And yet for some reason I am still forced to have things delivered by USPS. Please stop being terrible. USPS is causing unnecessary stress in my life.

Not sure why, but lately when I pick up packages at the Highlands NC Post office they are badly damaged - gigantic holes in some of the boxes. No explanations from the Postal workers, no apologies. I live in Cashiers NC but the mail is delivered by Highlands, and to be honest its not being cared for. Hoping to secure a new P.O. Box in the friendly Cashiers Post Office. Else I'll work hard to find a new shipping team.

Spoke with Rick this am about mail forwarding, and he could not have been more helpful or courteous. Rather than sending me to the website to correct our issue, he took care of it immediately and explained it thoroughly. Thank you to Rick!

The man with glasses at the front desk was extremely rude and neglected to check for my package. He talk down to me and said it was over my head when I asked why my package was undeliverable and why the tracking number said to pick up at Highlands post office with zip code and they didn't have it. Instead of checking he kept saying "they probably sent it back." Ok, if so than when ? Who? To where? He couldn't help at all and in top of that he was very rude!

I had an issue today...if this post office decides you are not in residence enough, they just stop your mail service. Frankly, it is none of their business when I am or am not home. A lady in front of me drove from Cashiers to pick up a package that she was told was at the Highlands PO and they just blew her off...and then because I demanded that they deliver my mail whether I am home or not, a snappy old lady behind me said, “ entitled, entitled, entitled”, as if wanting my mail delivered was a privilege...the world has gone crazy.

Richard, the manager of the Highlands, NC postal office has a really contentious, hateful attitude. He is often rude to customers; is quick to snap or talk down to customers; and is, in general, an unpleasant person with whom to interact. He often lets it be known to whomever is waiting that the office is understaffed and he obviously resents that and takes his resentment out on all around him. Please do something to help those of us who are in Highlands and must encounter him frequently. Thank you.

This place is awful. AWFUL. The postal employee service is horrendous and a terrible experience for residents and visitors to Highlands. The Highlands post office stands to make a significant amount of money from "forward mail services" that they offer part-time residents in this vacation/second-home area of the NC Mountains. They are therefore motivated to unlawfully stop mail services to residents of the town, to increase customer base for their expensive forward mail service. Getting mail actually delivered to mailboxes is extremely difficult, often requiring multiple phone calls to the post office, filling out multiple "Rural Customer Delivery Instructions", sometimes more than once a month, to activate service that was unlawfully stopped in the first place by the carrier/postmaster. The postmaster, Rick, is extremely rude, and displays conduct unbecoming of a public employee. I encourage residents and unfortunate customers to file a complaint with the United States Postal Service Office of Inspector General. Highlands deserves better than this.
