I had a terrible experience at the post office today with Cameron. I had a package on hold from Amazon. He was extremely gruff and rude in assisting me. The customer service is terrible and this is no way to run a business. Unbelievable!

I purchased a home in Cashiers on 11/21 and had ordered an item from Amazon to be delivered at that address. Prior to closing on my house I stayed with a friend 1.2 miles down the road and had ordered several items from Amazon which were delivered. After closing on the house I noticed that my Amazon account indicated the item could not be delivered and I should contact the local PO. I encountered Brian and was curtly told that Amazon didn’t deliver in Cashiers and I needed to get a PO Box. He handed me an application which I tried to fold and put in my purse-he informed me that he needed to review the instructions with me since “no one ever fills it out correctly”. When I asked about my undelivered item he told me that he was only 1 of 2 people working there and they were 2 busy to look for it and to come back later. He again told me that Amazon doesn’t deliver in Cashiers and I didn’t address my package properly. I explained that I was new to the area and from FL and he responded with a snippy attitude-you are in NC not FL. At that point I left and returned a few days later and was waited on by a very nice women who went out of her way to assist me with finding my package.

This review is about the postal employee " BRIAN" He offered the worsed experience at the post office I've ever encounted. Had a additude right off the bat when he saw my package. It was address to the UK but, the two letters "UK" weren't on the label. He commenced to resight the United States postal code to me which I really couldn't care about. All he had to do would have been to ask me to write what was needed on the label. Instead, when I asked for a pen to do it, he tells to me go get one from the common area counter when he had a pen right in front of him. Continuing with his additude he tells me he refuses to send my package now! This was PURELY due to his additude and likely not being sure how to send a international package, not because of anything I had done. Another customer standing in line agreed when ask. There's more to this story but, I'll leave it here and will be speaking with the postmaster about it. It's a BAD thing when you can't TRUST the postal employee with a package left with them. I took my package and had it send ( without issue ! ) elsewhere. Brian should not be working in the public eye!

The home we bought had been in existence 37 years with 2 families. We have been in our home 2 1/2 months now and when ordering from websites or Amazon we have constantly been told the address does not exist and we cannot receive our purchases. Our adult children have mailed cards, letters, gifts from pacific northwest to be told the same thing. Why can't our address be verified for receipt of mail? This continues to be a daily problem. Please record our address.....Please. This is no way to run a post office.

Not sure why, but lately when I pick up packages at the Highlands NC Post office they are badly damaged - gigantic holes in some of the boxes. No explanations from the Postal workers, no apologies. I live in Cashiers NC but the mail is delivered by Highlands, and to be honest its not being cared for. Hoping to secure a new P.O. Box in the friendly Cashiers Post Office. Else I'll work hard to find a new shipping team.

Since many of the past employees here have left mostly due to retirement many unpleasant experiences involving the new employees are happening quite regularly. Rather curt lousy customer service. Losing incoming packages...Sent mail never delivered. Lousy....& a scary word for a U.S. Post Office - Incompetent!!

Rude postal workers. Scold you for not picking up mail in a timely manner. Then threaten to contact your managers to report you for not picking up mail. They talk to anyone under the age of 30 like we're complete idiots. There's a reason I only go to the post office once a month, so I don't have to interact with the workers.
