For better than 25 years the Paradise,Michigan Post office has been a part of this community. Recently there has been changes that has alienated many of us. Ex. There used to be a bulletin board in the lobby that messages could be posted. Our local government posted meetings and notices there. The board has been removed telling us 'this is a Federal building" not for locals. That board has been there for 25+years. I find it interesting that the Sault Ste Marie post office (serving the city) has a bulletin board with DNR and court notices. Also today (7-15-2016) a package ...for our township....was delivered to the Post Office addressed only to our street address...not to our P.O. Box. The person behind the desk threatened to charge us another $9 plus dollars because it did not have our P.O. Box on the package. She knew it was for our government so we got it, but the threat does not sit well. Also, we were told that all future packages not properly addresses with our P.O. Box will be returned...even though she knows it's for the Township she will send it back. Really! What is happening??? I'm not the only one who notices the alienation that's occurring. Many others are upset also. Please bring back our friendly community Post Office.
