Martha at the Congress Street is always helpful, dependable and
a pleasure to work with - even when the task is complicated.
I had to write because she “made m day” last week. She is
a great asset to the USPS, and I hope she’s appreciated by her
superiors as much as she is by this customer (and I can assume, many others like me).
Just went to this location and the doors were locked and nobody there. No signs or anything. Just ... closed. It was supposed to be open over an hour ago.
I visited the 400 Congress St. post office today at 11:00 AM to mail some Christmas cards and had a really negative experience. One of the employees yelled at me in a very aggressive tone. I was on my phone and he berated me. I understand it is a stressful time but these are government employees and should be respectful. I have never been spoken to like this before and when I let him know this, his response was “Get over it!” How unprofessional and rude.
Two days our postman has failed to stop at our mailbox ... I know this because I put mail in the box with the flag up for over 48 hours and he hasn’t taken it.. Amazon says packages were delivered today yet nothing has been received. It is not uncommon to receive someone else’s mail and not to receive mail we were expecting and never do receive it. Unbelievable. If one complains nothing is done and I suspect the delivery postman is never reprimanded or re-trained. I was called once in response to a complaint, but I am certain it was not a legit customer service rep (strongly feel it was my postman making the call). He was rude and stated “You old people have nothing better to do than complain and get people in trouble!” How would he know I am a senior citizen if he wasn’t responsible for this route? He rambled on further insulting me until I terminated the call. Worthless and not an honest person given my unfortunate interactions with hi all based on the many constant mistakes he makes. Should we have to wait until after 9 pm in some cases to receive the mail when normally it is received by 1 pm? No accountability it appears. I think we need to do away with a government run postal system and go with a private entity because they just go from bad to worse with no apologies EVER given!
I am awaiting a package that is coming to Little Diamond Island, Fessenden Ave. Your delivery people tried to deliver it to Fessenden St in Portland. It needs to go to Casco Bay Lines on Commercial St and then out to Little Diamond Island. Thank you. Paula
