I absolutely hate our mail carrier. He seems to refuse to get out of his truck to deliver our packages to the front door. He has left boxes at the base of our mailbox in the snow and rain, has rubber banded them to the back of our mailbox, or left them on our driveway. I have complained formally three times to the post office and was told they would speak to him but nothing seems to work. Today I didn’t receive any mail and it appears three packages I’d been waiting for were delivered to someone’s front desk somewhere. I only hope they will put it back in the system and I’ll get them next week. I’ve been telling vendors that I’ll pay extra shipping costs to avoid using the USPS. We never had an issue with our previous mail carrier but once he retired, we’ve had nothing but problems with our new one.

Dear customer, It is a pity that your order GSHMG90050004SY tracking number 420209029205590289993224232197 delivery has attempted failure. The main reason is due to insufficient address/phone number/no one at home when delivery etc. Please kindly contact your local carrier to get the parcel soon in case it return to sender. We are always at your service if you need any help. This is my correct address 2945 Schoolhouse Cir Silver Spring MD 20902

This post office is open, but do not go there! It is rough, especially during a pandemic when you don't want to be around people for extended periods of time. While they had spacing and mask requirements, along with overhead fans running (all great things). There was only one man helping customers and that man is a saint for not mic dropping and leaving. The line was out the door at 9am (I was maybe the 5th in line) it took over 30 minutes for 5 customers to get through because of a mix of not enough staff, and bad customers who don't understand how money orders work (you can't pay for them with a credit card, just in case you thought you could). The Man working was so polite and told the customer multiple times and tried to confirm she was using a debit card, but she kept trying her credit cards, not listening. Finally she realized what he was saying and it took another chunk of time to alter her requests. The post office also has really dated systems which do not help their staff get stuff done in an efficient manner. I hope that man finds a better job soon, he was so patient!

The message at the top of the page for Wheaton Post Office incorrectly says that this Office has closed permanently. It was open this morning, providing normal customer service.

I just got a 2nd notice saying that my package had been delivered. I don't know how when the postal person hasn't even come yet today. Now I find out that Amherst Ave PO is permanently closed and I say it's about time but, I guess that means it's also a license to continue stealing packages and not delivering mail.

Walked down to the Wheaton Post Office shortly after 9 this morning and after standing in line for ten minutes walked home not having seen a single person behind the counter servicing customers. There were people in the back, one person came out briefly before ducking back, and there was the woman in front of the counter asking if you needed help. There was no help. I'm going to have to start driving elsewhere to mail packages.

We had a very helpful clerk find information about a certified letter that we sent to the IRS .It took research. We have always had good professional, friendly service at this branch from their many very fine clerks. They have always served us well.
