when did it become ok for a usps delivery person to leave mail on the ground at the bottom of the mailbox post if its too big to fit into the mail box? to make it easier for anyone to come by n steal when did they stop bringing things to the door?
Front end older black ladyfair skin that wears a wig is high k y unprofessional rude and condescending EVERYTIME!!! I go there. How do these people keep jobs talking to customers like they are their children? Disgusting!!!
Been trying to call them since they opened a hour ago this am to see if they have my package and no one will answer. This is absolutely ridiculous talk about terrible customer service.
There is a package at the Odenton PO and has been there since December 7. No further activity has been done or updated on my very important package!!! Lots of promises from USPS but no action!
My package has not been delivered and the status is saying that the package was out for delivery on November its now 12/11/20. When I try to call they hang up on me.
I will NEVER use this Odenton post office branch again. The service we got was unprofessional, rude and bordering on misrepresentation. When going to mail a letter, my son, a first time customer, went up to the counter and said he had to mail his 2 letters , each a 9x12 envelope with a few papers in it. The clerk told him he could mail it express mail for $25.00 each or priority for $7.50 each. He said he had never mailed anything before. She repeated the options. He chose the cheaper, priority and paid over $15.00. When he got home, I went back with him and requested a refund as he only needed to send it first class for about $1.00 each. Explained how clerk never told him this option. We were told that the clerk is NOT ALLOWED to explain about, offer or mention first class. They can only tell the customer and offer the customer priority or express. This is the most ridiculous thing I have heard. If it is indeed the policy it is designed to rip people off. Why not mention to him, or any other customer, all the options? Especially as he indicated 2 times he had never mailed anything before. Guess he seemed like a good target to the clerk . The were also very rude. I suppose they can get away with horrible service and misrepresenting to the customer as they have a government approved monopoly on the mail. Additionally, we were told he could not get a refund as priority mail had just left the post office. We checked the tracking and over an hour later it is still showing as at that post office. Also, while we were waiting in line the man before us walked up and placed an envelope down and said "I need to mail this" The clerk weighed it and put first class postage on it without asking how he wanted to mail it or only offering the priority or express. I don't know what the actual policy as the clerks treated each customer differently.
I agree with the reviewer, very dissatisfied customer. Although I live close I never go inside. The people there are rude to nasty.
Several years ago this post office was staffed with helpful, polite people. They went out of their way to be helpful.
The new hires are horrible and all should be dismissed.

The staff at the Odenton, Maryland 21113 station are phenomenal. Every time I go into the station no matter the time of day, they are ALWAYS cheerful and willing to help. I'm sure they are tired from being on their feet all day and from working with several different attitudes but it never shows. My closest station would be Severn, 21144 and I choose to go to Odenton because of their customer service. On the days they are not smiling you can just tell it's because it may have been a long day, and even then they NEVER make you feel as if you are bothering them. The supervisor at the station is amazing.
Came down in my building toay to find he had put the building NEXT door into our boxes. I am 706 Linden Grove Place and he had put the mail for 704 Linden Grove Place in our boxes. And he was laughing about it!! Good thing I am not in a hurry was what he said. Terrible service. This is not the first time this has happened. Scary. Tall black guy with dreads.
Bad experience with the USPS in Odenton today. I wanted to overnight important documents on Monday to a relative in another State so I asked the postal clerk if it was possible. She told me the fee would be $19.99 but it would also depend on weight and delivery location. I said it was alright as long as it was delivered the next day (Tuesday) by 3 PM, which is what she indicated. I went ahead and paid for the transaction ($25.55) put the receipt in my pocket and walked out. The next day I was informed by my relative that the package had not arrived by 3 PM as indicated by the clerk in Odenton. My relative called her local post office on Wednesday morning to track the package and they said it was already there but it was not supposed to be delivered until 3 PM Wednesday. After checking the receipt, I noticed it did indicate a scheduled delivery for 3 PM, Wednesday. I went to the post office to see if I could bring this matter to their attention and possibly get a partial if not all of the $25.55 refunded. After I spoke to the same clerk, who was not helpful at all and went to the back room to check when the package was delivered, she sends her supervisor to "explain" to me what happened and why I was not entitled to a refund. I was surprised to see 1) the supervisor even talking to me since I had not yet requested to speak to one, and 2) her adamant attitude about the receipt indicating the correct delivery date, but no accountability whatsoever of what her employee told me in the first place. Bottom line, I failed to look at the receipt (trusting the clerk's word) before walking out of the post office but the clerk failed to advise me of the actual delivery date being 2 days later. Otherwise, I would have gone to UPS or FedEx and received better customer service. The customer is always right...unless you go to the USPS in Odenton. These people are unprofessional and need to be re-trained in postal transactions, customer service, and show more care towards residents of the area. We do not need "supervisors" to appear confrontational and reek of cigarettes. I will never use that post office again.
