Postal Locations

What is going on with the mail? Sometimes they delivery, and sometimes they don't. I guess it depends on their mood. Then when you get your mail, it you're in 203- you in up getting 302.- Look! This is a number count. This isn't good at all.

Most times my packages that go through Hyattsville, MD go to Massachusetts, New York or in a continuous loop in the metro area. What is so broken at this facility?

Can I pick up a package here?

Does anyone work at this facility? No one answers the phone. Mail is misdirected frequently. Even postal employees are unable to reach it via phone. They are unresponsive to cases filed for missing mail (which they misdirected). I am of the belief the facility is useless and should be eliminated from the PO network.

I still haven’t received my package it’s been there since April 15th what’s the hold up ?

I ship all over the country on a weekly basis, and this is the only DC that I cringe when I see a package heading there. I have had packages going from NY to MD that have bounced back and forth THREE times like a bad game of monkey in the middle before being delivered in MD weeks late. It is painfully consistent. This center needs to be investigated.

Covid or not..., I have never had a problem with any post office in this entire country except for Hyattsville. I’m not really sure what’s going on down there, but my package has not left the facility in over three weeks. Please help get #9505812952711019318692.... Delivered

I just read some of the reviews below... In case you folks do not know, there is a virus that is going around the world and everything is getting shut down... It is amazing the USPS has kept running, but you will be damned if they have to delay packages due to outbreaks... Geeze people, use common sense and realize that the world does not serve YOU... The world is going through something... Every single person in the world!!!! And you are upset that your package is a month late? Come on !!!!! Do you REALLY think the USPS would keep YOUR package in a corner, point, and laugh at it knowing it will be late? Yesterday, I talked with a very pleasant and informative person in the Consumer Affairs office of the USPS about a package sent to me from Kansas City, MO on December 8, 2020. It arrived at this facility on December 22, 2020 and has been there ever since. I was told that this facility was overwhelmed with packages to the point that there was no room to move around. They have been working ever since to get packages moving. Now, I do not know if because of my call and providing the tracking number, something happened in the logjam, but the package was delivered to my house today, January 22, 2021. The postal workers are trying their best to keep the mail moving, but changes implemented to the postal operations during the Trump administration have had a negative impact on reliable and dependable mail delivery.

Looks like I’m not the only one ... Priority Mail package mailed from NJ to District Heights, MD. Shows arrival District Heights then 10 minutes later at Hyattsville, MD and there it sits, and sits and sits. Opened 2 inquiries and both closed without any reply except for “research case closed” on USPS website. Blame it on COVID right? Other packages going across the country get there in days not weeks. Why pay for the always increasing price of postage, let alone be forced to pay for Priority Mail, if they can’t deliver. They should return all postage fees after a certain amount of time of being “lost in space.” Where is my package, when will it move?!?!

Same issues as everyone else. My package was moving fine, got to this facility on December 19th, and hasn't moved since then. It's now January 14th. I put in a request for inquiry with the usps website on January 9th and they sent back an automated response saying they'll look into it and get back to me. And it said that if it takes more than 3 days for me to get some real information to call they're help number. Well I called and it just rerouted me to asking if I want to put in a formal request, WHICH I ALREADY F*****G DID!!! usps is a f*****g shitshow run by a bunch of clowns. They should just sell they're business to ups.

I had a package for Christmas that sat at this dead postal office for over a month from 12/14/2020 to January 14/2020, and the tracking kept telling me in transit last update was December 24, 2020. Well now finally it left this dead post office and is on its way. What is going on with this Hyattsville USPS, something needs to be done immediately and don't put all the blame on COVID!!! We need answers and reading previous reviews everyone is upset about their packages well guess what it might arrive in time for Valentine's Day if lucky!!!!!!!! Get your act together!!

I had a package that was moving through the states like lightening and I got USPS Tracking updates every 6 hours or so to show its movement. Then it got to Hyattsville, MD. Suddenly all my USPS tracking updates just stopped. So I decided to research and found this review site. And now I am TERRIFIED because it looks like the Post Office in Hyattsville, MD is some kind of black hole where packages go to die. Is there anything anyone can do about this? My package is extremely important, extremely expensive, and something I needed by today for business. I saw a review that asked if anyone has called the police. Would it help if we all called the Hyattsville police to demand they get over there to question employees?

This USPS location is as bad as some of the others....no one answers the phones or follows up on claims. Packages SIT FOREVER. Time for a clean sweep of their management. I had a similar issue with other packages over the holidays but at least they had the decency to answer their phones and reply to emails. And we wonder why the USPS needs a makeover!

I've been waiting for a package that was sent from Ohio on December 11, 2020. Tracking shows: December 14, 2020, 9:55 pm Arrived at USPS Facility HYATTSVILLE, MD 20785. Last tracking information says December 19, 2020 In Transit, Arriving Late. Your package will arrive later than expected, but is still on its way. It is currently in transit to the next facility. It is now 1/8/21. Something needs to be done about this.

Along with the rest of you I too have a package stuck there. It was going from State College, PA to Va Beach. It was going well till it got to this post office on January 1st 2021. It’s now Jan 8th and I’ve opened a case about it. If someone of high authority in the USPS reads please send someone to this post office to get our packages out NOW. Something very fishy is going on there.

Can you please tell me where my package is? I mailed it out and paid for two day shipping on Dec 15, 2020 from Jackson, Ohio. This package was going to Va Beach. The Christmas presents I sent through USPS are stuck at this facility. I mailed them on Dec. 15th from Keswick, Va. It is now Jan. 2 and they have not been delivered to relatives in Conn.. When I researched online using the USPS tracking form it says in transit from the Hyattsville facility on Dec.23rd...what in the H is going on. I think we need to have the Post Office go private...and these people handled our ballots for the election...yikes...

I mailed 2 packages (1 to Sykesville and the other to North East MD) from Aynor, SC on 12/16; the receipt shows delivery on 12/21. Tracking shows it’s been in Hyattsville MD since 12/23. I get that things are moving slow but 28 days to go less that 500 miles...unbelievable!

Update to my original review. I took the 40 min trip to the post office and was told by the guy working the counter that my package was indeed not there but ar a usps sort facility in Capital Hights MD amd that I would not be able to get to the facility. So there is absolutely nothing that can be done. Don't waste you time driving up there they are not helping people.

I ordered a package on the 16th and it reached this facility on the 23rd. I live almost 40 minutes away. It is a VERY expensive gift and its honestly ANNOYING AND INCONSIDERATE that these LOWLIFES cannot deliver packages on time. How can it be that there are so many people being annoyed with this postal office and NOTHING is being done??? They need to all lose their jobs and find somewhere else to work because this is UNACCEPTABLE. we should not have to pay this much money and have NO packages within TWO WEEKS. ARE U KIDDING ME???

Not sure what THE HELL is going on down at that postal office, but absolutely nothing is getting done. Their phone is turned off, my package has been sitting there since DECEMBER 10th, and they falsely resolved my research case after I asked them where my package is. I’M PISSED. When I can find the time to travel 40 mins I’m headed down there, but how about the people who ordered essential medication who’s package just happens to unfortunately get graced with that shithole of a post office? They just die?? Screw that USPS location. Inconsiderate assholes.

Package arrived on 11 Dec. Was put in transit to next location and on 15 Dec was updated to running late but still on its was. I have filled put the forms to check into it and told its not at my post office. I have called and escalated the complaint to the next level and they said it's still on its way. This facility is 26 miles from my post office and still not made it after 18 days. I will be going by this facility to see what the heck is going on friday morning.

Many have said that this post office is the worst in the US. I Don’t wanna believe that’s true. I just want my package. That’s all. I’ve been waiting for two weeks now. I mailed my Xmas pkg on 12/15 priority 2 day and it is still at this facility. The government might want to take a good look into this post office. I mailed pkgs all over the country to family and all were delivered and this package was the shortest distance to travel. These items we personal and now no longer available. I really would hate to think that inside this facility there are people taking Xmas gifts for them self’s. Very sad and disappointing.

10 days and my package has not moved what the hell

10 days and counting for a small package hiding in this facility. It says that the comments are not read by postal employees. Well, then, who the hell does read these comments?

Christmas present still there since Dec 10. Says it is in transit to next facility on Dec 14. Not true. It's still there. If it were in transit there would be another tracking date because no other Post office is that incompetent and it does not take a truck 15 days to deliver to an address 2 hours away. I have had this issue before, with them. Wish there was some way I could have mail diverted from this bunch.

What is going on here? My package arrived at this location on the 18th of December and it is now the 28th of December and it has not changed. When I called they said that my package was not technically there??? They were still awaiting it’s arrival??? So really what’s the use of the tracking number if it can’t be located. Lost Christmas gifts. Very disappointed and saddened . Still waiting for an update and the arrival of a fairly expensive item purchased that was supposed to have arrived 12 days ago!!! This location has very poor customer service and is very delinquent in completion of their duties!!!

Sounds like the same story as everyone else. My package has been sitting at this location for 10 days now. Has not updated...has not moved...the company I ordered from will not refund me because the items are still in transit. I fully understand the strain and heavy burden that our USPS workers must endure during these times. However, there is still an obligation to be fully transparent to the American public about their recent difficulties in fulfilling the expectations of their profession. It is not much to ask.

Mail is being delivered at night with wrong mail being placed in mailbox. Called the Landover Post Office to see what was going on, when I started explaining the young lady hung up on me. Guess she forgot she gave me her name.

My package has been sitting at Hyattsville Post Office since Oct. 21 @ 6:23 AM. Waiting for 5 days now and I am only about 40 miles away in Mechanicsville, MD. This very unsatisfactory. Considering it only took a day to go from New Jersey to Maryland. Can't get any answer when I call, good thing it is not an important package. I guess I just have to bend over, take it, and wait. Very disappointed in service.

I have no idea why my package even went to this post office and then sat there for over 3 days. Either this facility searches packages or they have incompetent employees. My package is legal so they better have a warrant.

HORRIBLE SERVICE - My package has been sitting in HYATTSVILLE, MD 20785 for 3 days....This package arrived at the Dodge Park Road, Hyattsville locations since September 17, 2020, 7:45 am. I have received notice after notice saying it is in transit to the next facility yet after calling the post office I found that it is STILL in the Hyattsville, MD location on the day it is supposed to be at its FINAL LOCATION!! Every time a package has to go through the Hyattsville, MD location it is ALWAYS a week late or later being delivered. Prices continue to go up as the service declines more and more and more with each price increase!!!!! Thank G-d this was not important legal documents that needed to be at its final location by a certain time because I would have been up the creek without a paddle!! NEVER had this problem with my packages going through any other postal location except for the DODGE PARK ROAD, HYATTSVILLE, MD LOCATION!!!! The poor service has not just started since COVID, complaints have been sent as far back as 3-years ago!! There are other postal facilities that process thousands upon thousands upon thousand of packages a day and have never had the kind of dysfunctions or problems of getting to their location as they do when they pass through the Dodge Park Road, Hyattsville, MD location....What is this place - The Hotel California - you can check in but you can never leave??? Again, prices continue to go up and the service continues to either remain horrible or worse!!! I will say when I spoke to an employee on the phone she was very helpful and very kind....if only the others who are processing our mail/packages were as on top of their game as this young lady was...... Fix this location or close it as the way it is operating as of today it might as well be closed!!!!

I was told my package was delivered to my mailbox no package why would. The system or mail person put delivered if there was no package delivered to my box I need some assistance concerning the matter ?

I sent a much needed important document to my son in the military. It transferred fine to each facility until it reaches this post office. Two weeks later it still hasn't moved. Sad thing is the only explanation is to say to us this mail is considered lost mail. Thank you, to this incompetent post office. This Post Master needs to find another job, with the complaints on the service of this post office receives. Mail is very important so if it is important use UPS or Fedex to insure its delivery. This is the MOST UNPROFESSIONAL RACIST post office of all times! No supervision & the rude racist women run amuck. They have refused packages numerous times too many to count because i am white. After this happened a few times, I even did a test. Had my African American friend take in one of my packages and my roommates. They took his package and smiled at him and refused the roommates with rudeness. The two employees Monique & Cheryl were so rude they were even cursing and griping behind the glass having the nerve to being told they were not adhering to the postal codes informed to me by the supervisor in the Landover office. The post master general really needs to take a good look at the videos they take of their employees for the date 12/27/17 to see how both these employees need to be FIRED. I have filed complaints with USPS and consumer affairs. If i find out I can sue those two employees personally i will JUMP ON IT as they are the WORST excuses for employees or supposed humans. LAZY WORTHLESS RUDE WOMEN.
