I do not understand the level of incompetency of the mail delivery staff in Dedham. I live on Pine St. in Dedham. Today, 10/13/20, a day that rained all day long, my postal delivery person left my mailbox cover open, letting every piece of mail get soaked despite the fact that the cover of the mailbox could have easily been closed. S/he also delivered a cardboard box and left it on the edge of my steps where it got totally soaked and ruined, even though s/he could have easily pushed it in closer to my front door where it would have stayed dry. This behavior is a regular occurrence nearly every time it is inclement out. It seems my postal delivery worker is more concerned with not getting wet than s/he is with doing a competent job. Or maybe s/he thinks it's funny to let people's mail get wet or is passive-aggressive because they hate their job? If I did my job this way, I'd get fired. There seems to be zero oversight and accountability on how these delivery people do their jobs so they don't care. If they don't want to do the job they are being paid to do properly, I am sure there are many other people who need jobs and would be happy to take their place.

Dedham post office is by far the most competent business I’ve ever dealt with. They are so diligent and concise. Even during these trying times they continue to deliver excellence. Job well done. Thank you!

I do not believe for one minute that I had no mail on Saturday, April 27 . Another neighbor had no mail as well . This is unacceptable.
