Barre, Ma 01005 post office... Awful!!! Took in a package on Tuesday to be mailed to Auburn, Ma 01501. Needed it there by following Monday. This package hardly weighed anything but paid almost 10.00 for it to go to Auburn. Post Master handled the transaction and said it would be there in 2 days, on Thursday. It was extremely important to get there before the next Monday, he said no problem! I tracked the package. The post master put in the wrong zip code!! My package traveled all over Pennsylvania! Needless to say, the package did not get there in time. Post office people said, "He always does this. He needs glasses." Then stated, as per usual, "there is nothing we can do". Usually I don't write reviews. But after having countless errors and mistakes made by this post office, I had to. It is unacceptable and inexcusable. But of course, THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO!!!

An update: Today I was waiting for a package from Amazon, which had not come. I tracked it on Amazon and it said " attempted to deliver".No notice, nothing from the mail carrier. I received a big box and a few catologs, but they couldn't deliver the small package. For an unknown reason, since they didn't leave a notice! Over this past winter on two different days I was waiting for a package. they did not come. I drove to the post office to find out why. The postmaster stated there was snow on the roads and he called the mail carriers back in. There was school, my husband was out driving a school bus, I was out driving! There was 2 inches of snow. But the mail carriers had to stop working! So freaking lame!!!!!

Obviously, this guy has never read the Herodotus quote, "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds." that has been (sadly) erroneously applied to the USPS. Maybe the USPS needs to issue a "delivery guidelines memorandum."
