I have had problems twice receiving packages. Each time I used tracking and found out where the package progressed and when it went the opposite direction. Each time it occurred I called the Mahomet post office and they took care of getting the package redirected. Just so all know, it’s not their fault if you don’t become proactive at tracking. One time they had my package but someone at another facility had used a marker over our house number so they had put it with someone else's mail. All the staff I have encountered whether in person or on the phone were very understanding and professional. They want to do a good job, sometimes there are blunders but none of it is intentional. Sending prayers for those frustrated to have a calming acceptable experience and have light hearts when things don’t go as expected.
Some negative reviews here, so I'll say something positive. I've never had a complaint about the mail service in Mahomet - and I use the USPS quite a bit. The carriers and lobby clerks are friendly and helpful. Every time I've had an issue, the clerk on duty has worked to resolve the problem, and if they're unable to help (such as circumstances beyond their control), they tell me what I need to know to work on resolving the problem.
I had two packages at the Mahomet post office for over a month without any notice to me that the packages were there. QVC has a 30 day return policy if not satisfied with the order. I received these two packages 6 weeks after the order was filled! I am appalled at this lack of service and inattention to detail. The woman who helped me mumbled that they were short of help and she had just gotten around to getting the notices sent out to customers. This is beyond unacceptable!
We were gone when we received our rather large package. Your delivery person threw it into our landscaping and broke half of my plant next to my step. If you're going to do your job, do it right! You have no right to damage my property with your laziness!!! It's bad enough that half the time we are receiving other people's mail and now you're tearing our property up.
Please respond to my message. I would like to make sure this never happens again.
Our postal service is the worst, we are lucky to even get our mail delivered. I live in Candlewood Est Mobil home park and it seems like we are a last thought. Mail may get to your address box or someone else’s. You can not count on anything to get to the proper place. Sometimes mail delivery is at 1:00 pm sometimes it’s not until 4;30-5:00 pm.. no consistency .
