I don't know how, with such a low rating, complaints from citizens, none of the bosses did an inspection or sanctions because these workers still work there and continue to treat people in the same disgusting way. I can't believe this is happening in America

This post office on Oakton is so bad whoever delivery’s packages on the weekend continues to miss deliver packages. It happens so much and then the people don’t even give back the packages. I’ve lived in Des plaines for 2 years and anytime I’m suppose to have a package delivered on the weekends I never get it. The post office service needs to get it together already cause this is very frustrating.

I showed up 10 minutes before closing and was told that my package would take too long to enter and that I would have to come back another day. Totally unprofessional.

After being hung up on 3 times and being yelled at from this very unprofessional person, I asked for a supervisor. She told me that person was already gone. I called back again and spoke with a Vickie. I left my name and number for a supervisor to call me back. I called back today and I a very polite man answered, I asked for a supervisor. Guess who I got, the same person who yelled at me yesterday, lied to me by saying the supervisor was not there. I tried again to express my concerns and again she began to yell at me. Got absolutely no where.

I have been waiting for a package that was to arrive on Dec. 13th. It is now the 20th. When I track the order, this is what I get: 12/13/2019 12:00 P.M. Des Plaines, IL, United States Package transferred to post office I've also tried calling your location and the phone just rings and rings. Why even have a phone number if no one is going to answer.

We are experiencing difficulty in receiving our mail in the 200 block of Cornell in Des Plaines. We are frequently receiving our neighbors mail and they are receiving ours. We are missing documents sent by mail, example: 1099s, credit card statements, etc. Our regular mail person has not been around and the substitutes frequently are one address off in delivering mail. This results in all of us delivering our neighbor's mail. Please review this complaint and take some action. Thank you.

I’m writing an official complaint. I forward my mail each year for three months when I go to Florida. I have done this for five years with little issues. This year I have gotten mail anyway on six occasions. I called in four times to complain and each time I’m told that they would pass on the information to the supervisor of my area, 293 Cambridge Rd. I was also told that sometimes a sub mailman doesn’t pay attention. Perhaps you need a better system in place for subs. This is poor service. I now have to pay someone to go check my mail. If I put duck tape on my mail slot to prevent mail this could signal I’m not home and criminal activity. I hope you can help make your service better.

I realize that there was no mail delivery on 1/30 & 1/31/2019. However I have not received any mail since 1/23/19. Is there a problem with mail carriers in this area? I have tried to call the Post Office on Oakton in Des Plaines to no avail. I live on Mannheim Road 60018.

We have not had a regular carrier for several years, just a succession of substitutes. Mail arrival time has gone from @2 to 3 PM to 5:30 or later. Often there is no delivery at all. Sometimes I get a neighbor's mail. Last month I did not receive my electric bill, though according to ComEd, it was sent out on 12/12. Today is Wednesday, 1/23/19. The last day I got any mail delivered was Saturday, 1/19. What is the problem? I am waiting for a package... Maybe USPS should hire more carriers. Substitutes take longer due to lack of familiarity with the neighborhood and make more mistakes for the same reason.

I just wanted to find out if I needed 2 stamps instead of one on a card I was sending my mother. I could not ascertain from the website despite regularly sending packages, and knowing the website (eBay seller). I called multiple times trying to reach a human voice on the post office line. The recorded prompts did not allow for talking to a human being. I had the measurements of my card, and weight. Yet, I was forced to drive to a post office and stand in line. Ridiculous! Please bring back the ability to speak with a human.

I would like You to know that I tried to send small package in envelope from Rosemont office .I came at 4.55 pm and woman who is working there didn’t want take it because is too late too put every information to the computer. I am not shure if put 2 adresses to computer its needs so much time. I thought that people who are working in post office should be friendly and more open to customers , not say that I can go to office in Dea Plaines or Park Ridge. I am a resident of Rosemont and should feel comfortable to make my what I need in this place. And there is not first time that this woman is not nice for people. Maybe there is time to change employ!!!?

Have had terrible service for the past three or 4 months. Checks lost and never received both sent from our home and ones we should have received. Big mess with all our mail. Some days get none and then other days a bunch. Get a lot of mail that doesn't belong to us. Need help. Waited on phone line one hr. 15 min. for help and so far have heard nothing. Sent a check out Sat. for our graddaughter's birthday and it is now Thursday and she has still not received it. She just lives in Chicago. It was picked up from our personal mail box along with two other checks on Saturday. Saw the mailwoman throw it on the dashboard of her truck rather than in a bag in back like the others used to do. There were two other checks for bills with it. Just hope they got their payments. Please get back to me as this is serious and I don't know where to turn.

I am having Major problems with the Des Plaines post office!
I am a resident of Des Plaines for the last twenty-five years
I had a horrible experience with their small office office located
at Lee Street and Miner. I contacted the Main Post Office
number and a claim was filed. I very much appreciate
the help from the main post office
The problem involved the refusal for a tracking number receipt from
the postal employee. She was very impolite and sarastic
When I mentioned I would contact the main post office
With more sarcasm she gave her name and told me to
"go ahead and call the post office and was laughing
about that!
Now I not received my purchase from E-bay costing
me nearly thirty-five dollars!
According to the tracking number the package was delivered
Thursday November 12th at 3.30 in the afternoon
The mail carrier left the note under the confirmation
the package was left at the porch!
I live in condo in Des Plaines
No porch just the driveway to entry into the building!
The mail was delivered already at around twelve
pm. I do not understand why my package was
delivered again nearly three hours later without
the carrier ringing my doorbell
The supervisor I had already spoken with about the first
incident gave me the number of the Des Plaines
phone number! No one answers that number without
much stress! The wait time for anyone at the main
Des Plaines branch is nearly five to ten minutes
from a rude Des Plaines postal employee!
Des Plaines mail service is usually alright
but not consistent and problems as
mine are always a strong possibility!
