Opened a PO Box online and paid $55.00 went to get the key and post office employee was very rude, I didn’t have proper ID according to him. Just moved here from another state. So I asked for my $$ back he just said go online, that’s it . He acted like I was bothering him but isn’t that his job?

Just received notice that a attempted delivery of a package was made at 12:03pm by no secured location available and notice left. 1. No notice was left. 2. We were home if they would have knocked. 3. Package to big for mail box. 4. I saw the mail truck drive by without stopping. Just do you job. Algonquin Post Office, how one associate can effect the customer experience.

I know it’s been hard on everyone during this COVid and short Staff. Trying to keep up with daily collections and delivery’s. My only concern haven’t been received utilities bills or credit Card statements. When finally arrive they have over due notices With interest charges spend most of my time on the phone Adjusting additional charges… According to the companies I’ve been talking with been saying They have been getting complaints about the postal delivery. It’s sad to hear the one thing we depend on has bad reviews. I hope this situation will be resolved soon..

My daughter went to this post office to mail her wedding invitations. We just found out now a week before the wedding that half of the guests never received their invitations. That's more than a $4,000 loss that we have to deal with. Not to mention the heartache my daughter is dealing with. I called to complain and they just brushed me off.

This being the third day in a row that our mail was delivered after 5:00 pm, I waited for the young man who handled the delivery today to ask what had happened to the nice woman who has been delivering our mail for years. He told me that she needed to have shoulder surgery and that she would be out of commission for a number of months. When I asked him if they were assigning another carrier to cover her route while she was out on disability recovering, he told me that they had no intention of temporarily assigining someone to the route. The postal authority management in Algonquin intends to cover the route by having 3-4 carriers start delivering the mail at the end of their work day once they have completed their own routes. The carriers would not be the same from day to day, and the timing would be erratic from one day to the next, with delivery going into the evening. While I live near the intersection of Crofton and Hartley, I could see another truck running down Westbury at the same time, so the entire subdivision and adjacent neighborhoods are obviously impacted. This is absolutely unacceptable!!! We deserve better service, but I doubt anyone in authority at the Post Office in Algonquin really cares.

My daughter and her service dog and I went on 3/2/2021 in the afternoon. The lady would not allow the dog into the service area. The dog had a service vest on. She said she doesn’t allow dogs and her postmaster supports her on this. I asked if she was allergic? She said, no. She also said this is a federal building. I am disappointed people don’t know the laws and need to b educated on service dogs. Her dog has tags and was well behaved. I can tell I was going to get no where with her. She was not nice in her tone and demeanor. I hope someone will address this.

For the past 6 months we've been receiving our mail at awful hours. Lately its been around 6-7pm!!! WTH Either they need to hire more employees or the mail carrier is not very good at their job.

Dear clerks: out of common decency and consideration, can you please comply and cover your noses when you are asked? Why wear masks if you don't wear them properly? I have seen 2 clerks with their noses exposed. When I asked politely to cover their nose due to my being high risk, I was told NO. Our interaction would have lasted just minutes. Signed, a very disappointed and upset patron.

My husband came to your facility yesterday at 5:24pm, 6min before closing time at 5:30. All gates were closed. He stood there and asked if anyone was there, finally an older blonde hair woman appeared with her coat and belongings on and asked her to get his package that he has paid extra money to have overnighted. She was very nasty and told him sorry we close at 5:30. He proceeded to explain and even showed her his phone that it was only 5:28 and that he has been standing there for a few min. She again said sorry we close at 5:30 and walked out the door in front of him at 5:29pm. When your facility clearly states that it closes at 5:30. Something needs to be done about this. No only was she extremely unprofessional, but closed 10min early and left multiple people standing there thinking the same thing. She left before 5:30.

I just tried using the 'automated voice answering service' for the Algonquin Main office on W Algonquin Rd. I kept getting misunderstood and redirected and never did accomplish stating my problem. Hopefully I shall get a call-back in 'over one hour' like it said I would get. Quite frustrating. We want to talk to REAL people.

I have about had it!!! My address in Lake In The Hills has been the same since at least the early 70's if not before. I moved here in 1988 and some brain child decided to repeat my address in Algonquin about 10-15 years ago. I've complained to the post office before and they point the blame to the fire chief in Algonquin. When i actually spoke to some representative about the matter, the answer was: "They've done it in the big suburbs without problems, why do you have to be difficult?" I've watched fire trucks and police come down my street and turn around, I've been delivered pizzas, never received some pizzas I ordered, ordered clothes and shoes which I never got, had my electric turned off, gas shut off, cable TV shut off, received orders to appear in court with minor children, received others credit cards, not received time-sensitive documents and have been told in the past to get a post office box in Algonquin. Why should I? I've lived here longer than all the residences at the other end of the street combined! Why should I drive 2 or 3 miles daily to get my mail? Oakleaf road, south of Algonquin road should have never been named Oakleaf or at best should have never had repeated addresses. Who's responsible for emergency vehicles arriving at the wrong address resulting in fatalities? Who's responsible for credit cards falling into the wrong hands or statements and bills arriving too late? The list goes on, but just short of me putting my house up for sale and letting the next sucker put up with some idiot's bright idea to repeat all the addresses, I'm not about to get a post box 3 miles away where I have to wait for business hours to get my mail. And that certainly won't help me if I'm dying of a heart attack or gunshot wound because EMS was beating on the wrong door, a mile and a half away, after taking 10 minutes to get there in the first place. My suggestion, make everyone on Oakleaf Rd, south of Algonquin Rd, get a new address. It's not that hard, just find out what the last address is at the north side of Algonquin and Oakleaf and continue with the next numbers. If it starts at 100, work the numbers backwards. 99, 98, 97 etc... There can't be more than 99 houses on South Oakleaf. We've even got a completely different zip code that what we had when we moved in and that didn't help anything. Funny thing, I'm always the guy correcting the address on envelopes and sticking them back in the box. I've only gotten a handful of mail over the last 10 or 15 years that have been corrected in my favor. months after this first started, I approached the repeated address with what appeared to be an important letter from social security. The gentleman who lived there gave me a sack full of opened mail addressed to me. Some were just the envelope with the contents discarded. That was my first complaint and I bet there's not one record of any of my complaints. A few years ago, some woman sent a nasty note telling me she had been at her address longer than I and that I should be forced to get a post box at the post office. "Change your effing address or get a post box!" I've been here nearly 30 years, my late wife's family was here 16 years prior and built this house where a cottage once stood. Change the other addresses or I may just go on a shopping spree the next time I get credit cards with my address and a business' name above it. It's a good thing I've got a nice mail lady who usually watches out for goofs, but I'm not the only one who's paid hundreds and never received merchandise we ordered.

Mail delivery service could not be any worse where I live! The delivery schedule is so irregular, this must be a test of our endurance to see how many times in the afternoon we have to walk to the street to see if mail has come yet! It arrives anytime between 1:30 and 6:00 which is no schedule at all. Most fun now that it is dark early and will be even more fun trecking through the snow!!!! I don't know how these people can keep their jobs. If I provided that kind of disservice to my customers, I would have been fired long ago!

This facility is great! My wife runs a EBAY business and she drops 60 to 150 packages a day, 6 days a week, everyone is super friendly, and always really helpful. Every day, day in and day out, I have never seen any of the employees treat anyone in a disrespectful manner or speak rudely to anybody.

One of the worst services, when you call the number, no body pick up the phone and it gets disconnected. Passport Services people are always rude, instead of helping the people, the way they talk is like scaring them. Need to learn how to serve the customers.........everybody needs that training badly.................

Tell me why there is USPS when nothing gets where it's supposed to go. Most recently my husband went into the post office because he knew the envelope would require extra postage. Got it weighed and left it with the postal employee. It was important paperwork, going from Algonquin to Inverness.....20 minutes up the road.....never got there. This kind of thing happens too frequently....including bill payments, our real estate tax payment, etc. And, we end up with late fees. Often we don't receive bills and other important communication. This is not a Postal service .....there's no service and they accept no responsibility.

Horrible customer service this morning. I've had a PO box at this location for many years. Today I find a green slip in my PO box saying "past due" when I haven't even received a bill. Marsha, who apparently is in charge of PO box program says that because I can't prove I didn't receive a bill (how should I prove a negative?) that I'll have to pay their $21 late fee. I explained that I would not be paying their late fee and that a review of my track record would show her that I pay my bills on time. She refused to remove the late fee and said if I didn't pay they would close my PO box. Perhaps some customer care training for Marsha would be in order given how poorly she handled this simple customer service issue. Any other retail establishment that treated customers this way wouldn't be in business very long. As for me, I'll find another solution where my business is appreciated and where I'm treated with respect.John Schmidtke, President, All-American Properties, Inc.

This is the worst post office if the area. I've never experienced such a crabby group of employees. It appears their role is to avoid as much work as possible and to discourage use of this post office. The West Dundee post office is much better and the employees actually seem like they like to work there. The Elgin post office is also much more pleasant. Avoid this office and maybe they will close it and shift resources to the offices where the employees actually enjoy their job and are pleasant. Really bad. I mean REALLY BAD.

Everyone at this location seems ok except for the guy on steroids!!! Biggest a$$hole I have experienced at a post office let alone customer service. He must really hate his job and coworkers. I understand that anyone can have a bad day but every time I come in he is the biggest s o b to everyone before me. Either he hates his job or life. Or it cold be the side effects of the steroids he on. I mentioned it to one other person working behind the counter and she just smiled and apologized. I personally avoid him or if I see that's he's the only one working at the counter I'll take my packages to ups or FedEx!

I would like the manager of that office gave them training on how to treat customers and be more friendly, I was told I had to make an appointment to apply for passport, and look in their web site and any site says that I have to make an appointment. I am really mad, they are not professionals.

Here's a thought. At lunch time how about staffing enough people to handle the rush? And, for those that have a package ready to go, how about putting up a sign big enough and easy enough to see so that you don't have to get in line and find out that can be done after waiting 15 minutes. Am I the first person that has ever walked into this facility? Absolutely the worst experience every time I go there, which fortunately is not often.

Extremely rude overweight blonde woman told us that we could get our passport issues taken care of and to wait in line with our infant. 10 minutes later she saidit was after 11 and we'd have to leave. this was our second trip there. the last trip they couldn't do our pictures after we waited in line for an hour. we both work and both have to be there. people like the employees at this location are why people dislike state employees and why I will never ever go to this location again. I'd rather pay double and not deal with an angry bunch of morons.
