My husband and I stopped in to get our mail and we were driving our rv, and had to park lengh wise across two spots. Another customer immediately came up to our vehicle and started harassing us saying we couldn't park there. I told her we could and we tried to ignore her and just go in. She continued screaming at yelling at us and harassing us, even into the front lobby of the p.o. I told a cashier to call the police because this lady was causing such a scene in front of everyone and wouldn't stop. That employee, who I found out is named Gloria said "No, we don't need any police in here, and you get out"!! I said fine I will call them myself. It was so bad 3 other customers left! Then all of a sudden that Gloria had run around the corner and was in my face as well telling me to get out of the building because I was harassing that woman screaming and yelling!! I said no, you weren't outside to even know and why aren't you calling the cops! I said we literally just stepped out of our vehicle and there she was starting in!! I told her we just stopped to get out mail that we really needed. She refused to let us get it, said we weren't allowed to get our mail because she said so!! Then the lady who harassed us cut in line and was up at the counter whispering to this Gloria, and I was watching them, Gloria told me to get out and wait for the cops outside!! So I did, and when I did, the woman harassing me followed me outside again and started screaming at me, and then came up in my face threatening to "punch me in my face". The cops showed up and she ran off. We told the police what happened and that Gloria wouldn't let us have our mail, so they went into to ask if we could get it and she still refused saying she wasn't letting us. It was so unbelievable, we don't even know this woman who started screaming at us. We don't know this Gloria who works there either, and she was completely unprofessional and yelling at us too. And she is purposely withholding our mail from us now. The whole thing was like the twilight zone and all I can figure out is that these two women must know each other for Gloria to say it was us who was harassing the woman causing problems. It was totally unacceptable behavior. and for Gloria not to want the police to be there is very wierd, saying "we don't need police in here". So strange and not to mention dangerous when someone is causing such a great disturbance! I want to get in touch with this postmaster at the Des Moines IA, 2nd Ave location so that they are made aware of the actions of their employee, the harassing customer and how we were treated so badly and unfairly! And to get our mail.

Went down to talk to someone about my mail got the runaround. Been waiting for a state check that was mail out on the 22 of may and it is the 29 th of may still haven’t gotten it. And it’s only 2 mails from where it was picked of from It doesn’t take nine days to receive a pice of mail in the same city.

Apparently you can fill out an email notification on any address you want and get notification of all mail going to it. But if you find out your mail delivery is being tracked, you cannot stop it without knowing the email address on file for your address. We started missing key mail but the post office said we could not have it stopped because we didn't know the exact email address. This is such a violation of privacy! Everyone needs to complain to their senator.

I mailed a letter at E. 7th Street/Locust in Des Moines, IA, on Nov. 15. That letter wasn't postmarked until Nov. 29th. Apparently that blue mailbox is not collected regularly?

I sent 2 different letters one with the zip code 50313,..and 50314,..each had the same address but each one put a return address label on them after they scanned them and seen there was money inside,....they removed the money then resealed the envelope and put the return to sender on the letter.....if you can't trust your US postal service its getting pretty bad,...Just a warning they unseal your mail and take the money

Had a package scan in distribution facility on March 10th, no departure scan has been "In Transit Arriving Late" since then, over 60 days I have been waiting for my package that is only 2 hours away. Several inquiries, missing mail reported and no contact from the USPS in response to any of them.

A package I ordered was shipped on March 23. It came from NC to MO to DsM and sat in DsM over the weekend. I didn't receive the package on Monday. The tracking said it had gone to MN to ND to SD and was received by DsM again. Feeling sure I would receive the package today, I checked the tracking to be sure. My package is now in MN. It would seem that DsM is the weak link in this chain. And even more eye rolling, this has happened before.

It does NOT need to be processed 6 times to be delivered. I want my package! 4. And you wonder why people think the post office is crap! Case and point right here.

McKinley post office is worthless. From the hysterically inept and maniacal postal employee talking on the phone; to his holier than thou attitude about all the incorrigibles and rude and yelling people he has to talk to and deal with. I mean,. All I asked was where was my disability check that normally comes on third of each month. He starts yelling I don't know where it is. When I told him the SSA always gets my check on time. I even called SSA in Des Moines before calling USPS. He yells, saying that it would have been delivered if they had it. I then proceeded to ask why I had to call 5 times before phone was answered and, why the screeching loud sound at the end of phone call before auto phone hangs up phone Again, more yelling like it's my fault because it certainly not his fault the fax machine kicks in. No wonder there are such acrid, bitter, and sour tastes and thoughts and resentments about the post office. And don't get me started about my dog and the mail carrier !

Just moved here and have not received very important mail. This is very frustrating. This never happened in West Des Moines. There must be something wrong at the post office its self. This is aggravating.

Our mail is suddenly getting delivered around 7-7:30 PM down from 3ish a few weeks ago. The holidays are over, s’go!

Haven't received mails since Wednesday of this week, 01/10.18. Sent email to USPS for clarification and did not receive a response. Is there a human being out there who can look into this?

We did not get mail delivered yesterday 1/11/18. We have not gotten mail delivery today 1/12/18. We also did not get mail delivery on 1/2/18 or 12/26/17. There have probably been other times too. We live on East 24th Street.

I sent a box to Arkadelphia, AR. on the 10/17/2017, it did not arrive on this date. I have not heard from anyone concerning this matter. I was told by the tracking number that it was in Des Moines Iowa in the dead zone. I don't understand why it did not go to the address I had on the box, or why it was not returned to me at my address. The t-shirts were very special to my granddaughters, as there were four people who are no longer with us, one was their dad. I want my package back, there is no amount of money that can replace these t-shirts. .

Just tried calling this post office and it goes to voicemail. Then hit says to hit 0 to go to an operator where it then tells me that it is not setup. UGH what kind of people live in IOWA where the phones are setup correctly? Does anyone get through to this office?

Our postal carrier was recently changed to a new one. Since that time our mail has been delivered after 5:00 PM, sometimes after 6:00 PM. This is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. We used to get our mail mid to early afternoon. The carrier came at approximately the same time each day. The new carrier has no time schedule. We have also been getting mail for neighbors. There is something seriously wrong with our mail service. I suspect that nothing will be done to correct this situation.

I am so tired of the way our Alden, Iowa post office is treated. They were not even open this morning and no sign of explanation was posted. I went to pick up a package and she told me that her scanner was already shut down so I could not get it. I stated that they were closed all morning and she yelled at me saying that was not her fault, they didn't send anyone to our location. Very rude! If I am not mistaken, our post office should be open daily unless it is Sunday or a holiday! My taxes at work?????

Every time I send a package and it has to go through Des Moines, I cringe. It seems like they disappear. I can see the tracking number made it there and then it is stuck there for days. What's wrong with you people?

I have never seen such an outrageous operation. We received a damaged package that was sent by your priority mail and the package was in shreds and half the contents missing. It took me over an hour to reach a live person on the phone. Then I was told I must file a claim on line. I guess I am forced to no longer use your services and also to write my congresswoman and senator to encourage them to defund this operation and turn it over to private industry where someone is accountable for their actions.
