I have had my post office box closed due to "nonpayment" twice with the most recent occurrence happening this year. I went in to check my mail to get a replacement Debit card I ordered (this being where I receive rental payments and banking information as I maintain two residences about 2 hours away from this post office so my visits are infrequent). What I found is an empty box and tape over it from the inside. When I called, I was told the box had been closed due to nonpayment. I'm looking at my payment confirmation where it does not expire until Feb 2018 (as I write this in July 2017). This is why I will close this at the end of my PAID box rental and not renew. I've already established a mailbox and I'll gladly keep my money.
