Everytime I come to this post office the man that works the front is far from polite. You need to replace him with people friendly people. The other thing is my envelope I was mailing would not seal correctly so I asked him for a little PC of tape to keep it from opening. He replied with we don't have any tape. That's the second time that's happen to me there and I really don't appreciate the bull they give me especially when my disability keeps me from walking very well. If this is the way your post office works I'll just go to a differentl one.
I would like to express to you my concern regarding the times that the drop box in front of the Putnam post office is emptied. I work in another town and on my way home (between 2:30 - 4:00 p.m.) I usually drop my business mail in the box. This is the FOURTH time now this has happened where the box is full and until you try to push the mail through the slot you don't realize that. The mail then gets crushed into the box. I've tried to retrieve my mail but when I did other mail came out. I didn't want to be accused of something so I just put it all back in the slot and parked my car. When I went in to tell the employees that the box needed to be emptied they were less than enthusiastic in their response. Three times I've gone in to tell them the box needed to be emptied. On one particular day after telling them I sat in my car to see how long it would take. It took so long I finally left after watching other customers jamming their mail into the box. I'm not trying to get anyone into trouble but perhaps you might consider emptying the box more often. Actually on one of the occasions there was a man "lurking" outside the post office. He could have been just waiting for someone but who knows for sure. I was actually concerned that he might be trying to take things out of the box. I just wanted to make you aware of this issue. I know that given the current political situation there have been problems but this one seems easy enough to solve by increasing the number of times that box is emptied. THANK YOU for all you do.
Once again the postal carrier shoved an Amazon box into my mailbox and it does not fit and thus I have to cut the box to get it out. I thought we had rectified this situation! No I am not going to get a bigger mailbox. Itis not out of the way for the carrier to bring the box to my door. Thank you!
Today I came home to find that my scheduled package pick-up was not picked up. This has happened several times, and when I called the Putnam post office, I was told they had a busy day and would pick it up the next day. Today, they would not even pick up the phone, and after several attempts where it rang multiple times and someone picked it up and hung it up, they took the phone off the hook. This is unacceptable service. I've had many other issues over the past 2 years (crushed boxes, ripped open bags with merchandise nearly coming out of the package, my packages delivered to the wrong address, receiving prescription drugs addressed to someone else). These issues need to be addressed, this is a serious problem. I've been patient, but I've had enough.
I want to thank the PO Superviser working on July 1, for tracking down my Amazon package and delivering it to me at home. He did a great job.. I wish there was some way the USPS could help with delivering packages to my home correctly on Sundays. Thanks again.
