This is one of the worst businesses I’ve ever known to be in existence. It would not be in existence if it wasn’t governmental. I have gotten about my 25th notification that they have returned products that I ordered that have sat in the post office for months with no notification. I get notified when they finally sent it back to the company. That’s the first I knew that I had this package. I have companies that will not send to me any longer because of the amount of packages that have been sent back to them that the address is undeliverable. it’s a post office box! Company well take a picture of the address and it is correct, they just send it back I think because they don’t have the room. I sent a girlfriend a 3 packages from Ohio and she got two of them in May. The third one she didn’t get until August when they handed it to her saying “hey we found this” when she went to pick up another package. It has gotten down to two out of three packages that I send out make it to the address. One always gets lost. I have lived here for 3 1/2 years and I’m still somewhere between 500 and 600 on the list to get a post office box. So we share our post office boxes up here except for the rich people who somehow walk into town and immediately get a post office box. I have been told by everyone that if I will bring them donuts every week I will have a post office box in no time. I went the other day to send 2.3 pounds (book) to Uganda. I brought it in a box and asked the lady the cheapest way to send it. She had me take it out of the box and handed me an envelope and I sent it that way. Researching it after the fact, it is $10 per pound to send to Uganda. I was charged $42 for 2.3 lbs. I’m assuming the envelope that she handed me and told me she was not charging me for was some sort of express mail. I realize that now. I foolishly trusted her to answer me honestly. This post office is one of the most corrupt businesses I’ve ever encountered. I believe that they were auditing Aspen post office which is next-door because of its corruption. I have always supported USPS. When you are struggling I buy extra stamps and send things more expensively to help support the job market and the post office. That has stopped. There is no mail delivery in Snowmass to the houses. There is only a post office box that you can get your mail. The reason everybody shares a box is because we don’t want to drive a half hour to 45 minutes to a different town to get our mail. You do not offer home service delivery but then you also do not offer post office boxes for the city of Snowmass Village. As poorly run and corrupt as Snowmass Village post office in Colorado is, many of us are now doing our own neighborhood Postal Service. Our neighborhood has a designated person each day that will drive the half hour to UPS to deliver our mail and our packages so that we know that they get to where we are sending them. A couple us us are thinking about making a pony express for Snowmass Village Colorado and we will pick up peoples mail and deliver it to them so they don’t have to go to the post office. There’s quite a buzz about it we’re just trying to make it financially work for all involved. So I might be the next private post office in Snowmass Village since the government one cannot accommodate on many levels. It is one of the most expensive ZIP Codes in the country. The super wealthy people have no problem spending a little extra money to have there mail delivered and picked up every day. Thank you for supporting this business venture we are thinking about. If you keep doing what you’re doing this new business is definitely going to work for us. We already have it going in our neighborhood we just need to expand it.

After receiving notice that my package was delivered to a parcel locker I went in to find no key in my box (again). After inquiring with an employee who couldn’t find the package in the back or in the parcel lockers he then went into a rage at someone ringing the bell for service and slammed the employee only access door in my face without assisting me further. He nearly hit me with the door in the process as I was following him while he looked for my package. I’ve had it with the post office. It’s not a service...it’s a burden to the public.

After receiving an alert on Friday night that the package I sent to my son's address was "undeliverable and being returned to sender", I tried to call the "open" Snowmass Village Post Office on Saturday morning (all Saturday morning!!), but no one answered the phone. I was hoping that the package could remain at the post office until it could be picked up, rather than have it be returned to me. Unfortunately, according to tracking, the package was processed (for return?) on Saturday afternoon (clearly someone was working). How simple it would have been to just hold the package for the weekend...not completely sure what the rush was to return a package with a Snowmass Village resident address to Massachusetts, especially at Christmas!
