I was supposed to receive a package today from Amazon and for some reason it was delivered to Lyons CO which is nowhere near Burns WY! They scanned it at the Lyons PO and the tracking numbers says it’s ready for pickup today. So it is sitting there in someone else’s PO Box and not mine in Burns WY. I have tried to call the PO and they do not answer their phone. I just get a recording that says no one is temporarily available to answer your call. At least when I call my small town PO in Burns they ALWAYS pick up the phone and have great customer service.

The Lyons post office employees need to learn about customer service. We (tax payers) pay their salary, yet the attitude is that they are doing us a favor by waiting on us. I have higher expectations for small town friendliness!

What is wrong with this post office? I’ve lived in Lyons,CO for over a year now and it’s constant problems. So much that I use other cities services because they are horrible. PO Box are offered for residence that do not have service to their homes. When I first moved here I was not offered the free service and paid for a box. Upon talking with locals they all informed me P.O. Box are free. I had to get a refund in cashiers check! Bc they couldn’t just refund my cc. One year later, I have my same P.O. Box locked on me. The keys wouldn’t open my box. I’ve verified proof of address that is mandated yearly prior to this problem. There should be no reason to lock my box. When I went to clerk (which I completely agree from other reviewers, they constantly change their hours so it’s never convenient for working citizens to effectively use this usps) she didn’t know why it was locked and stated I lost packages (sent back) because they screwed up and I haven’t been able to access my mail!!! But no, “sorry about our f up… let me help you track the packages we f-d up on!” There are so many other negative issues with this town’s usps’ laziness and inability to do their job properly. I wish my job kept me employed with the amount of mistakes and inability to preform your job properly! These clerks should be thanking their God that they still have jobs!

Your early morning clerk is very inefficient. I arrived at 7:30 to pick up a package, and your clerk had one customer ahead of me. It took her over 15 minutes to help that one customer, so I had to wait in an enclosed area for almost 20 minutes. At a time when we are being told to avoid closed spaces with other people this put me at unnecessary risk of exposure to covid-19.

This post office get away with murder Most of the town, and all the residents in the surrounding Lyons area do not have mail delivery. We all have to drive to the post office to pick up our mail. They consistently close the front desk and pull the metal barrier across the room well before closing hrs. Heaven forbid they work a few extra minutes. Although most of the clerks are efficient, there is a new one who does not know what she is doing. After her many mistakes, she blames the customer. Typical lazy government employees.

Most of the time they deliver mail unless it has snowed. My mail box is very accessible right next to the highway and we plow the area to insure delivery, but if the courier thinks there is to much snow even after we plow they won’t deliver the mail. It’d be nice if they weren’t so lazy and went the extra mile to get out of their vehicle and take a step or two to put the mail in the mail box. Maybe they should read their motto and take it to heart. “Neither snow nor rain nor heat or gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds” except in Lyons Colorado then they only deliver when it convenient for the courier.
