I went to the Carbondale Post Office yesterday and gave the male clerk my pink slip (from a specific company recorded on the notice) to pick up a certified letter that we needed for court (2 days later) I told him I need the pink slip back. He took the slip, left and came back with another letter that was from another company (not the one recorded on the notice) I told him that that was NOT the letter associated with the notice, and he agreed and then He asked me if I wanted to receive it, I said no, I want the one associated with with the slip I gave him. I asked him to check the slip and he refused. I ask him to give me the pink slip so I could compare tracking numbers. He said it was in the trash and pointed to the trash 2 feet behind him. I said, well I need it. He laughed and became rude and said too bad. He stated he could care less about my court case and refused to retrieve the document that was obviously right on top of the trash behind him. I could actually see it. I asked him to let me retrieve it if he didn't want to put his hand in the trash to do it. He now said loudly no! and told me I was holding up the line and motioned to the 2 people behind me to move on up and told me to move. I demanded to speak to the Post Master who he said was not available. He refused to give me back my own documents or the tracking number so we can use those documents in court. The opposing party has confirmed that the letter is at the post office so why would the clerk not give me the tracking number back or let me get it or get the letter. Could it be that this guy was paid off to not provide the document or the tracking information that I desperately needed for court! What the heck, this guy was such an Ahole!!!!The guy on purpose tried to embarrass me and was extremely rude. This is completely unacceptable. We live in a small valley and the post office continues to get a bad rap because of people like this. This guy needs to go work in a prison because in the real world, people shouldn't act like that. Totally unacceptable~ by the way, it would help if someone would answer the phone..
I have had two packages in the last month show as delivered and they have not been in our mail nor have they showed up in another box both from Amazon.
I'm married to a postal worker, I know how hard their jobs are, especially this time of year. But the disorganization of the Carbondale PO is a disaster of their own making. It leaves them behind in their deliveries, stressed out and, as a result, some of the rudest people I've ever had to deal with. At least pretend to care, pretend to want to help. The shoulder shrug is not a good customer service move.
I was supposed to receive a package at my home, but I was notified that I could pick it up at the Carbondale post office. I tried to call them but no one answered on a Saturday a.m. So I made the 20-mile round trip grudgingly. I asked the clerk for my package and she went to get it out of the truck, which took a while. I appreciated her help and asked her why the box wasn’t delivered to my house. She said the the delivery person hadn’t shown up for work, and then she had quit. They are very short-staffed and they’re worried about what will happen at Christmas. No one wants to work. This clerk (maybe she’s the postmaster) was so nice, so patient, and so helpful. She’s definitely overworked. It ended up being a great trip to the PO because now I understand the problems they are having.
One particular mail carrier who delivers to River Valley Ranch, white female with long greyish/dirty blonde hair, has been NOT wearing her mask inside the mailbox room at the Ranch House.
A few weeks ago, the door was open while she was unloading the mail, and I walked in to find her unmasked. I asked her to mask up, and she was belligerent with me, stating that she's been vaccinated - as if that was reason enough to not mask up inside.
She clearly does NOT know that she could still get infected AND leave respiratory Covid-19 droplets and aerosols behind that infect others.
I stopped by the Ranch House today, and she was unloading the mail, again unmasked, and this time with the door closed.
It is NOT acceptable that she does not wear a mask inside a small space, and in this case, with no ventilation. NOT acceptable.
Last collection time of 3pm for Carbondale on Saturdays is incorrect. It is now 1pm. This caused me to waste two hours of my time for a drive to Carbondale today. Please try to keep info on the web pages current.
USPS delivery drivers has gotten lazy by the days. I pay for priority mail and this guys say attempt to deliver hold for pick up, but my security camera says otherwise. They do not attempt to deliver the items on time.
This post office has the worst delivery system I’ve ever seen. I rarely get my Packages delivered when they note on tracking they have been delivered. So many times I have to reach out and wait and some days or weeks later the package will finally appear. I’ve lived in many states over the years and this city and it’s postal delivery persons must be totally ill funded because they can’t manage to get letters or small items into the correct mailboxes in Carbondale
I don’t know if this office is understaffed or just not efficient. I’ve always had problems from the local office in the 3 different locations I’ve lived in Carbondale, and I decided to get a box, hoping that if they didn’t have to sort it to a truck, it would be faster. With a post box, the mail seems to be slower than ever. Furthermore, it was better when UPS delivered my packages when I lived 3 miles outside of town, and now that I live in town, USPS is delivering, but it takes 2 extra days for everything. I’ve also tried to deliver things through this office, and besides Marty, everyone else is gruff, terse, and incredibly angry to be working there. It’s worse than TSA!
This P.O. has been just great!! good operating hours and helpful and friendly and efficient counter staff. Home deliveries impeccable! Thank you for a daily service that is dependable and happy.
On Friday, July 8th, all of my mail was delivered to the wrong address by the mail carrier. The next day, a small box addressed to me was delivered to the ground next to the alley. I tried calling the local postmaster (81623) but the phone was constantly busy. This is the first time in 25 years that have felt the need to complain.
