I got a notice in my mailbox the week of 8-21-2021 stating that my PO Box annual fee was due and the dollar amount was $76. To be due on August 31st. I walked in the post office on August 31st to pay for my PO box I had a check written for $76 which was the dollar amount printed on the outside of the envelope I was informed when I got to the counter that the prices had changed and the last week apparently and my PO Box would be $10 more I said I have already written the check for $76 which is what's printed on the envelope please will you just take this and process it and I will be back with your other $10. The acting supervisor @ Bayfield Office informed me she would not accept my $76, and turned me away. I was unable to pay for my PO Box on the day that it was due. She wrote on the envelope the new pricing and the date of 9/11 that it was due. I left that day unable to pay my PO Box fee for the year. I returned on a September 9th to pick up my mail from my PO box oh, my PO Box was locked by the post office. I went to the counter and asked for the supervisor same woman came to the counter from the back I explained my situation to her that my box was locked and I needed to get my mail. She asked me how much I was going to pay today and I said I am not going to pay today it is due on the 11th I will pay it on the 11th. I also said I would like my mail she said well you can have your mail I said my box is locked she's like I will open it and you can have your mail but if you're not here by the 11th we are going to charge you more money for being late I said okay. I got my mail because she unlock the Box and I left that day. I went back today which is September 11th the post office was open from 10 to 12 and I went to pay my bill before close of day today September 11th. I was denied again for the post office to accept my two checks one for $76 and the other for $10 which was the amount that my PO box has gone up since I got my bill in the mail with the amount printed on the envelope of what I owed for the year. The brand new customer service representative told me that I was going to have to pay an additional $25 because I was late with my payment and I explained to this brand employee, that was at the counter each time I spoke to the supervisor about the above said situation of my PO box. I literally argued with them and said no you need to take my payment, your supervisor that is not on the clock today, told me if I don't pay this by September 11th there will be additional charges on my account. I am going to pay this today because I do not want the additional money that she was intending to charge me if it was not paid today September 11th. I asked for the employees signatures on the envelope that was in my hand that had printed the dollar amount on it that my PO Box should have cost. Plus the handwritten information of the additional cost for my PO box from the supervisor,I had spoken with on two prior occasions. One employee signed the envelope, the other employee declined to sign my envelope. I will be back in Bayfield post office at 8:30 on Monday morning the 13th to speak to the "supervisor" that chose not to work Saturday 10 to 12 and allowed ia Newnyto stand in her position and could not remove a $25 fee that was on there for supposedly me being late with my annual payment, that I tried to pay on the 31st of August. Which was the day it was due. This may not be a big deal to anyone else but right now I am beyond livid with the customer service that I received in the bay field post office today September 11th. The same post office that I have had a post office box in since 1990 oh, I have never been treated so rudely I don't believe in my entire life and definitely not since 1990 when I open the PO box. Appalled, Kristeen Melrose

When I need to mail packages I always try to take them to Bayfield instead of Durango (where I work) When I mail them from Bayfield they get to their destination 2 days sooner! It goes from here to Denver. If you are mailing to anywhere in New Mexico then mail it from Durango. All of durango mail goes to Albuquerque to be sorted.

I stop by the Bayfield PO every few days to pick up my PO box mail. Why does it seem like the floor is always wet and newly mopped every time I stop by? You'd think they'd mop during less busy hours, not 2:00 pm. Some elderly, disabled, or clumsy person (like me) is going to slip and fall one of these days.

The post office in Durango I have my mail stolen twice because the post man just leaves it on a table in the apt Building in the waiting area. I called the post office and they said the manager of the apts asked them to do that. The manager said she never okayed that. After my fist package was stolen, the post master said from then on they would leave a slip in my mail box. And then they kept putting it on the table. Now a second package has been stolen. I asked to speak to or. Get the phone number for her supervisor and she replied no, and would call the police if I called again

I am one of the residences on Foxfire Road in Bayfield, Colorado. I do not know what is going on with the Postal Employee that delivers mine, and others, mail at the entrance of Foxfire Road and highway 160, but can you please educate them!!! Weekly, either my mail is being placed in the box of other residence boxes or, I am receiving the mail of other residence in my box. Today, a resident came by and delivered the mail she had been getting of mine, in her box. I have not received mail in my box in two days. PLEASE, CORRECT THIS ISSUE!

Why hasn't my mail been delivered until 5pm these past few days?! I usually pick it up on my way home from work and the late deliveries have really screwed up my routine. I'm really hoping it reverts back to normal soon or I will be filing a formal complaint.

The manager of this post office needs to be terminated immediately. Melinda Conners has repeatedly used her position as Post Master to intimidate, lie and manipulate her staff and several citizens of LaPlata County. How and why she has been allowed to do this to so many paying customers is baffling! Rude doesn't even begin to describe the ABUSE she puts her staff and customers through. Somebody in charge from Denver better get down to Bayfield pronto! Figure out what in the world is wrong with this woman and fire her before she gets the US Postal Service sued. I will be placing a formal complaint at 1-800-275-8777

Melinda Conners is the biggest b**** and worst employee I have ever met. I would rather drive 12 hours to get my mail elsewhere than deal with going into the Bayfield post office. She is conniving and psychotic....she makes false allegations and treats customers like dirt. RUDEST women I have ever met.
