No one ever pick up the ph at this location . It's been 2days when I tried to call about 40 times . I have a box at that location and was wondering if they can hold my mail for couple weeks till I am Back to the country . And no one ever pick up the ph !!!! A total Costomer service abuse !!

Same problem as previous posts - the website outline a number of service and advice that passport services require appointment (please call), and the phone is not answered. A voicemail confirms the office address and proceeds to terminate the call. That is really unimpressive.

How can I make a passport appointment ahead of time if nobody picks up the phone?

One of my issues at the 40 Bellam Blvd., San Rafael Post Office is the fact that the telephone is not answered in most instances whenever I have called. The phone 'rings off the hook' until I finally give up and hang up - and that is with both #'s I have. There have been times when I know the phone has been picked up only to be hung up again immediately (it's obvious by the sounds!) - no communication whatsoever (it happened this morning again). I know they may be shorthanded at times but this is rude and unacceptable just the same. At least it should be that one could leave a message for a callback. I hope something can be done about this type of behavior and/or change the phone system.
